Modern Slavery Statement

This statement has been published in accordance with section 54 (1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

It sets out the steps taken by United Fresh (UF) during the year ending 31st December 2024 to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chains. The UFC is committed to improving our practices to combat modern day slavery and human trafficking from within its own business and that from within its supply chains (including Third Party Supply routes). The company acknowledges responsibility to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and will ensure transparency within the organisation and through to our Supply Partners with goods and services to the organisation.

Our supply chain includes the key product categories of Fresh Produce, Dairy, Meat, Fish, Chilled Food & Ambient food. The UF operates a third party distribution model nationally, all our customer’s orders are picked and then the goods are distributed in delivery vehicles to customers via thirds party supply partners locations based nationally within GB. Within the supply of all products there are relationships with external suppliers.

Supplier Code of Conduct: All our suppliers must comply with our stringent code of conduct, which explicitly prohibits forced labour and human trafficking. We expect our partners to uphold these values and ensure that their practices align with our contractually required standards.
Due Diligence: We conduct thorough due diligence processes on all potential and existing suppliers.
This includes background checks, regular audits, and assessments to ensure adherence to anti-slavery laws and our ethical standards.
Risk Assessment: We contractually have the right to perform regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks of modern slavery within our supply chains. This involves evaluating factors such as geographic location, type of labour used, and historical issues within the industry.
Policy Review: We regularly review and update our policies and procedures to ensure they remain effective and aligned with best practices. This includes staying informed about changes in legislation and industry standards.

Our anti-slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implement and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chain or within our business.

United Fresh are unwavering in our commitment to ethical business practices and transparency in our operations. We will continue to work diligently to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in our business or supply chains.
